Mokopane English Comprehensive School (MECS) and Mokopane Academic School of Excellence (MACE) hosted the very first debating league in the town. The league is a joint effort between schools and the Limpopo Schools Debating Association (LSDA).
The tournament took place on Saturday, 29 February 2020 and drew 80 learners from Mokopane and Polokwane. Gojela High School and Ebenezer Secondary School joined MECS and MACE for the historic day. Debaters from PEPPS College, Hoërskool Noorderland and Maseala Progressive Independent School were also in attendance.
Debaters received awards for the winning team and best speaker in the junior and senior divisions. The full results from the tournament can be found on the Leagues page.
Many thanks to Mr Nkomo for hosting at the school and Lebohang who directed the tournament. One can also never forget the adjudicators who made the day.
The LSDA aims to keep the league running through quarterly tournaments hosted by member schools.
